SHADOW PEOPLE OR SHADOW MEN

In the last 10 to 15 years there have been reports of people seeing what is called “Shadow People” or a shadow form.  Some Ghost Hunters think that this is a fairly new phenomenon but reports of shadow people have existed throughout history.

Usually the person reports seeing a dark shadow that resembles a human form and appears suddenly and moves of its own accord.

No distinguishable facial features are seen and they are either smaller or larger than a human being.

In my case I have seen them at human size not more than 6 feet tall. 

Most of the time they are noticed out of the corner of one’s eye, sometimes disappearing when a person turns to investigate.

These apparitions move quickly across a room usually disappearing through a wall or a closed door. 

Some people have reported a feeling or sensation of extreme fear or dread in conjunction with a sighting.  Other observers have reported feeling a sense of extreme cold coming over them which disappears when the apparition is gone.

There are many thoughts or conjectures as to what these beings are and depending upon experience or contact these theories follow as such:

1.       They are the ghosts of those who have passed on but are not able to leave this physical world for whatever reason.

2.       They are beings from another dimension that somehow or from time to time overlaps our own, and then briefly can be partially visible.

3.       They are beings that were never human at all and are a demonic spirit that embodies pure evil. To this theory some contactee’s have reported seeing glowing red eyes.

There are several commonalities to their appearance, they appear in simple form resembling the human body.

Some may appear to be wearing either a Hat or Cape (which may give rise to the phenomenon of a being called “The Hat Man”)

And most always they often try to avoid detection and seem to like to observe from the corners of a room and usually at night.

However at times there are exceptions to these rules, on occasion they have been seen in daylight, have been observed in full vision although it is more common to catch a sighting from the corner of the eyes.

And they appeared to have been photographed as captured unexpected images.

In my personal experience I have seen them to be between 5 to 6 feet in height, as a black smoky human shape but with the smoky shape of a man’s face in profile looking startled as if he didn’t want to be seen and quickly gliding away to a door or wall, if a glide could also appear as if running in a hurry to get away.

 And because the shape is always the same I have come to the conclusion that it is always the same shadow person.

Which an elderly Aunt of a friend of mine has also reported as well.

Some skeptics think that a state, known as hypnogogia is the cause of seeing such beings. 

Hypnogogia is a physiological condition in which a person is half way between sleeping and waking, or a twilight state, and could explain some sightings. 

During the hypnogogic state a person can be aware of their surroundings and at the same time be in this dream like state, where they can receive images from their subconscious that superimposes itself onto the real environment and therefore is perceived as being real.

In this sleep-waking state which is similar to sleep paralysis, a person often states of feeling the feeling of fear or dread that may be accompanied by shadows, flickering lights or other visual hallucinations.

However although Hypnogogia could explain a number of these reports of shadow people It does not explain these appearances and feelings with those who are in a fully awake state or day time sightings.

Other skeptics attribute shadow people as being cause by over active imaginations or neurological disorders that may trigger hallucinations or visual oddities.  Even if this was true for some cases, it still does not explain the images caught on film or sightings by multiple people at the same time.

Although the shadow people do fill an observer with the feeling of fear or dread, so far they do not appear to be dangerous.

In the case of my Friends’ Aunt she felt that they were more curious than anything and had even spoke to them  saying that she was too busy to be bothered with them and they left by simply turning themselves into a thin line and winking out.

But for other the sense of evil may create an uncomfortable atmosphere in the home, and it would not be amiss for someone to seek help from a psychic, ghost hunter or the clergy.

It is quite possible that it would be helpful to invite a legitimate paranormal investigator to your home to investigate and identify the haunting.

But for others some form of psychic cleansing has been able to take care of the problem, although there have been those who chose to have a member of the clergy to perform an exorcism in their home, depending upon their religious beliefs.

And they there are others who simply leave the shadow beings alone and just cohabitate with them in peace.

Because I have only seen them infrequently I have not had to go so far to do  a spiritual banishing but I have done spiritual cleansing as a matter of routine, and when I’ve noticed something unusual in my home, I’ve usually said to what appears to be empty air “Go away and leave me alone, you’re scaring my dog and that’s not nice.”

By doing that you lay down the boundaries and 90 percent of the time most spirits and shadow people will respect that.

In the end how you handle it is up to your personal choice and situation.
